Bk. 2: with added subtitle, Geroi fronta i tyla, with additional indexes. Moscow, 1981.

The never completed, and far from comprehensive, official bibliography issued by the Institute of History and INION, although weak on archival-related literature, nevertheless includes documentary publications. The first two volumes covering prerevolutionary history are of little help to those working with archives. The third volume, planned to cover the Soviet period, was only issued in fragments: Part 2, book 1 covers the October Revolution and its aftermath; book 2 covers culture during the 1917–1920 period; and Part 4 covers World War II. The gaps in this series are indicative of the serious "blank spots" in Soviet historical research.

Subsequent fiche reproduce the documents themselves, including the Chronicle of Current Events (with name indexes), samizdat editions from Russian Orthodox, Crimean Tatar, Jewish (including the "Iskhod" sborniki), Evangelical Baptist, Lithuanian and Catholic, and Ukrainian sources, among others. Appendices deal with human rights organizations and problems in the USSR (mf. 377–390). Later editions of the Radio Liberty registers listed above repeat the listings for most of these materials (see above), but are not correlated with the microfiche editions.
